The East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) will be presenting the second installment in its Home Cookin’ series, featuring members as soloists, composers, and in small chamber ensembles.

The Home Cookin’ concerts were created to provide members of the orchestra a rare opportunity to step to the front of the orchestra, a unique concept, especially for a community orchestra.  It allows EMSO to highlight all of the many talents and accomplishments of the avocational musicians who comprise our orchestra family.
Our members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, occupations and life styles, and everyone has a unique story to tell about their relationship with music.

This season’s Home Cookin’ concert will feature three original pieces written by orchestra members,  many different soloists playing music ranging from the romantic Saint-Saens, to the unforgettable sounds of the American backwoods, and chamber ensembles representing our string and woodwind sections.  It is delightful to see and hear so many members of the orchestra “strut their stuff” for this unique concert program.

EMSO is a community orchestra based in Woodbury, led by music director and conductor Dr. Elizabeth Prielozny Barnes and concertmaster Michal Sobieski.  The orchestra performs five concerts per season in the Twin Cities east metropolitan area, in collaboration with local artists and organizations.  For more information go to www.emsorch.org or visit our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/emsorch.
