We all know Woodbury is a great place. But it’s time for local artists to let the specific spots that make Woodbury great be their muse.
Artists of all ages are invited to enter drawings, paintings, collages, photographs or video clips (must be in digital format) in the Awesome August Woodbury Days Online Art Contest.
Go Kids Day Woodbury, a Shop Local-Give Local community marketing program that supports local businesses and gives back to Woodbury schools and local causes, is sponsoring the event.
What’s in it for you? The opportunity to win prizes from local businesses awaits contestants, and the top winner will get a red maple tree planted in their honor near the bandshell in Ojibway Park—fitting with Go Kids Day Woodbury’s dedication to helping the city’s commitment to sustainability.
Needs some inspiration?
"Your favorite place is likely found within the location, environment, buildings, independent businesses and history and traditions of Woodbury," according to Joan Mathison, a sustainability professional and Go Kids Day Woodbury community advocate. "These are all community assets that we must treasure and protect or they could be lost through change."
"Our favorite places hold powerful memories that we hold dear to our hearts; a magic moment in a sweet spot," she added. "What place in Woodbury makes you smile, get inspired or feel glad to live here?"
Spread the word, and tell people to vote here for their favorite place, now through August 28. Enter your image here.
