Thirty-five years ago, the Adamidis family started Dino’s Gyros, a restaurant serving fresh Mediterranean fare. “Fresh” is a large part of the Dino’s identity and one that the restaurant has chosen to highlight in a bold way. “We have always been using this way of preparing in the kitchen,” says Jason Adamidis, owner of what is now a franchise. “Then we decided, why not show off these beautiful fresh ingredients we are using?” Enter Dino’s Fresh Med Grill, a restaurant experience that Adamidis jokingly dubbed “Mediterranean Chipotle,” where customers walk through the lines and have an endless number of options and combos that they see prepared right in front of them.
Adamidis credits the push for this change to customers who want healthy food and also want options. Customers start by choosing between a sandwich (gyro), salad, plate or bowl and then move on to pick a protein, sauce and any number of vegetables. The new format allows for optimal creativity, but also allows customers who want a basic gyro or salad to get that too; it’s the best of all worlds.
Woodbury was the second location to adopt this fresh Med grill, and the impact has been significant. Ron Nielsen, who became co-owner with his wife, Lori, right at the time of the switch to the new concept, says that Woodbury customers have responded positively to the change. “It’s great when people actually comment on how much they enjoy the new choices that they have at our restaurant,” he says. Experience it for yourself and let Jason, Ron and Lori know what you think. Dino’s Fresh Med Grill, 10060 City Walk Drive; 651.738.9757.
