Honing Healthier Lifestyles

Woodwinds Health Campus’ Ways to Wellness program undergoes a major remodel and expansion.

Originally founded in September 2006, the Ways to Wellness program on Woodwinds Health Campus has evolved to boast a holistic approach to leading a healthier lifestyle. “Our healthcare isn’t just in the walls of hospitals and clinics,” says founder Brenda Navin. “[Health care] really begins in our homes with our lifestyle.”

Navin is a licensed and registered dietician, director of health and wellness, and personal trainer for HealthEast. She wanted to start a program that offered a holistic approach to improved health and well-being. “It’s about addressing root causes that people have as to why they may not be feeling and looking their best and why they are feeling overwhelmed and stressed,” Navin says.

The building remodel, which fully opened in March, features a new shared gym which allows for natural integration for patients to optimize the different program aspects. Additional new features include a Pilates reformer studio, body composition and testing center, private training space, health psychology and nutrition coaching, group fitness, a teaching kitchen appropriately named “The Kitchen Table” and a body composition testing center. “We’ve really added in services that will encompass all of our clients’ needs,” Navin says.
