In Woodbury’s ever-growing community, health care providers continue to pop up to meet the demand for clinics and offices on the east side of the Twin Cities. Here are some new places in town.
Minnesota Women’s Care
At Minnesota Women’s Care, which opened its Woodbury clinic at the beginning of the year, women receive a whole host of OB/GYN and urogynecology care, as well as hormone replacement therapy, and help from chiropractors, dieticians and estheticians. “We’re still a small practice that’s very collaborative and works hard to make sure our patients are receiving the best care possible,” says practice administrator Elise Ruprecht.
The Maplewood practice started in late 2012 and now has more than 4,000 patients in the database, all who are now welcome to visit both the Maplewood and Woodbury clinics depending on the services needed. Their two main physicians are Dr. Amy Kelly in Woodbury and Dr. Melvin Ashford in Maplewood. The nurse midwives and nurse practitioners float between the two locations; the chiropractors, dieticians and estheticians are in Maplewood only.
Tria Orthopedics
Tria Orthopedics will be opening its third location in Woodbury this fall. With a broad range of services from acute injury care to rehabilitation from sports-related injuries or other orthopedic issues, Tria has more than 20 physicians on-site in a variety of specialties, all with orthopedic certification and/or training. “We’re focusing on how our new facility can be an asset for the community,” says Steve Housh, vice president of orthopedic services for HealthPartners, Park Nicollet and Tria. “The center will be a one-stop shop for patients with orthopedic and sports medicine needs.”
Tria’s Woodbury location will have a large therapy space on the second floor, including a hydrotherapy pool, a throwing lane for sports medicine, as well as a full range of imaging services to diagnose and support treatment.
Minnesota Eye Consultants
Minnesota Eye Consultants will open a Woodbury clinic in the fall of 2017 to consolidate their Maplewood and Falcon Heights locations, and include an ambulatory surgery center. “We’re anxious to get out there,” says director of marketing Anna Mueller. “Patients travel from quite a ways, so we’re excited to make access more convenient.”
The practice has 13 ophthalmologists and 11 optometrists across six clinic locations, with a support staff of more than 300. Services include consultative ophthalmology and optometry, as well as cataract, dry eye, lasik and corneal services, to name a few. With the exception of Minneapolis, every location of Minnesota Eye Consultants has a clinic, surgery center and laser center, as well as a focus on research to bring in top fellows and the latest specialties.
Twin Cities Orthopedics
This practice, in the Woodbury market for more than 15 years, is building a new campus scheduled to open this fall. Twin Cities Orthopedics has 110 physicians in 39 locations across the metro, seeing 92,000 new patients last year and a total of 375,000 clinic visits.
“Because I’m not a clinician, my favorite thing is working for someone that you would have no problem having your own family go to,” says CEO Troy Simonson. “Our physicians have a huge focus on the level of service and quality of care that we provide.”
In the new location, Twin Cities Orthopedics is working to streamline processes, bring in top-notch technology and create a unique space while providing extensive orthopedic services (think the spine and almost every joint in the body, orthopedic urgent care, sports medicine and performance, imaging, joint replacement and more).
