Over a year removed from the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Russia, we’re so ready to jump back into the world of figure skating. Lucky for us, the 19th annual Woodbury Ice Show is right around the corner.
This year’s theme is “A little bit of country, a little bit of rock and roll,” so get ready for some twang, some riffs and a couple (thousand) sequins. There will be adult performers, some little cowboys and rock divas as young as 3 and 4, and every age between. Expect group performances from the club’s prestigious ensemble teams and synchro lines as well.
Perennial favorites of the show, the father-daughter number and the family number, will also be back. “It always brings laughs and smiles,” says Brenda Walker, skating director for the city of Woodbury, “and a whole lot of applause.”
The Woodbury Ice Show is an event that’s easy on the senses, well—visually and auditorilly speaking (maybe bring a blanket). Yet, you may forget the cold when you watch these talented, hard-working performers take the ice. You may even be inspired to lace up some skates and put on a little Garth Brooks yourself.
