In 2019, kitchens will continue to be the most remodeled areas in most homes. (They’re also the most important rooms when it comes to resale.) Here are some things to keep in mind for a successful project.
Style: It’s best to keep the bigger-ticket items classic and add trends in areas that can be changed easily and less expensively.
Layout: Top priorities for most clients are large center islands, great organization and layout, and advanced technology in appliances. Steam ovens and induction cooktops are hot trends right now. And of course, large pantries are always a dream.
Design: Stainless appliances are still the most popular, but matte finishes are trending. A mixture of painted cabinetry and some wood finishes will give the design longevity. You can add touches of wood with open shelving. And we’re seeing bolder colors in cabinets and tile. Hand-crafted tile looks are fun. Gold and copper finishes are trending, as they add warmth and charm. They’re a great place to add trendy touches (cabinet hardware, light fixtures, faucets and so on), because they’re easily changed later. Happy remodeling!
