DEK: Blast Blow Dry Bar opens in Woodbury Lakes.
In September, business partners Laura MacIntyre and Heidi Brownlee opened Blast Blow Dry Bar in Woodbury Lakes, the fourth location for the pair’s expanding chain of salons which have a focus on creating a “camaraderie experience.” MacIntyre, a local Woodbury resident, says her city was a prime location for the expansion, allowing Blast Blow Dry Bar to better serve clients living in the eastern metro.
Blast offers a variety of services, from their trademark blowouts to makeup application, waxing and eyelash treatments. Blast’s services are ideal for anyone looking to go out for a night on the town, and MacIntyre recommends a classic blowout finished with the Boho hairstyle ($39), which she says is currently trending. The look shows off whimsical curls toward the bottom of the do; there are nine different styles to choose from, making sure all preferences are satisfied.
Blowouts typically last three to five days, but it ultimately depends on hair length and thickness, MacIntyre says. Blast’s mission is to make getting your hair done a memorable and enjoyable experience that becomes a part of the weekly routine. “Our moms and grandmas would go out and get their hair done, and it’s kind of the same concept,” MacIntyre says.—Joe Dixon
