Liberty Ridge Elementary School is hosting its annual carnival and online auction on April 16. Auction items will be on display during the carnival and phones can be used to bid online, a feature implemented a year ago. “The online factor captures a larger audience; each year we keep raising more money,” says Kara Rowan, chair of the online auction committee.
Most of the proceeds raised go to teacher allocations. “Teachers can use that money as they see fit for their individual classrooms,” Rowan says. In years past, teachers have purchased iPads for their rooms or consumables like birthday crowns and nameplates. Others have used the funds to enhance their classroom libraries.
