Dog Spaw pet-grooming salon opens in Woodbury

Woodbury’s newest pet-grooming salon, Dog Spaw, is the ultimate retreat.

After seven years of pet-grooming experience, Jordan Perri opened her own Woodbury pet salon, Dog Spaw, earlier this year. Starting as a groomer assistant in Las Vegas, Perri moved in and out of several salons and served as an apprentice in Utah, all the while knowing that she could develop a better business plan someday.

Whether it’s trying to find the time, or getting your pet to behave and sit still, Perri knows  at-home grooming can be a challenge. “Doing it at home can cause discomfort and unnecessary anxiety for the dog if the owner isn't confident in what they’re doing,” Perri says.

Perri, who owns a Shih Tzu and a toy poodle, has a passion for taking care of her clients’ pets and likes to add an artistic flair to otherwise boring haircuts. The environment of the salon is also important to Perri; the goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, like they are being left with a family member.

The building’s interior design is intrinsically tied to this goal. Each aspect of the salon’s services (bathing, drying, grooming, consulting) is separated into its own area to give pets and their groomers more privacy and less distraction.

With five groomers, Dog Spaw specializes in poodles, terriers, sporting dogs and mixed breeds, but the staff is knowledgeable about other breeds as well. Additionally, Dog Spaw offers blueberry facials, arthritis baths, color treatments and show grooming.
