What’s All the Hubbub?

The tastiest event in Woodbury this month might just be Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf’s annual Chili Hubbub. Families, including young kids, are invited to spend an afternoon tasting chili (you guessed it) and other comfort-food offerings—mac and cheese, anyone?—from local restaurants. Call it a chili scavenger hunt; try them all, and decide which is your favorite. Best of all, all proceeds from the event benefit the food shelf, which serves neighbors in need in Woodbury, Oakdale, Landfall and part of Maplewood. Read more about What’s All the Hubbub?

Share Your Love Gala

The Rotary Club of Woodbury hosts its annual gala this month, focusing on giving back to the community and raising funds for local youth programs. This event is particularly timely for those of us who might still need to make plans for a Valentine’s Day night out—it’s just the right amount of glitz and glitter, combined with a philanthropic mission, for a holiday all about love. In fact, this year’s gala theme is Share Your Love. Guests will be treated to food, drinks, music from the Lake String Quartet and a performance from comedian John DeBoer. Woodbury High School Coffeehouse

Don’t miss Woodbury High School students’ annual Coffeehouse show, produced this month at the high school and featuring musical acts and more. This marks the annual fundraiser’s 22nd year, and will include a festive Cirque du Soleil theme. Guests can hear music and other performances from students, and try a delectable sampling of food from local vendors. All proceeds from the evening go to the American Society for Suicide Prevention.
