Alma Flor Ada’s ribbon cutting ceremony was held in August 2020 and officially opened its doors the following month, therefore creating new opportunities for Woodbury families to have bilingual preschool education and cultural exposure.
The Royal Club helped to officially launch Minneapolis-based pet-calming CBD brand Kradle at the Royal Dog Days event in October. Forty-five dogs (and their families!) joined in Lake Elmo for a day of golf, food, fun and a dog costume contest.
Local media personality Matthew Sherry hosted the live-streamed Diamond Award Show, held at Hidden Greens Golf Course, to celebrate event-industry professionals. Woodbury local Jaime Spellerberg of Wilderland Floral received the Rising Star Award.
On February 29, SoWashCoCARES held its first fundraiser, Leap into the Legacy, at Prestick Golf Course. The funds raised at the event supplied food packs and basic needs to students, beginning this past summer, as well as funds for the Skoolie Bus project.
Aspire Music Academy and Open Door Community Theatre presented Stars on Broadway 5: Heroes & Villains in February 2020. Directed by Lori Sager, the show featured the best of Broadway, including 70 songs from more than 30 musicals.
The Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed residents to the annual Community Awards Gala in January. The gala awards deserving residents in categories including Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Educator of the Year and more.
