The Father’s Club of Saint Thomas Academy will host a public event featuring motivational speaker Jake Olson, the former University of Southern California Trojan football long snapper, who is blind. Olson has shared his moving and inspirational story with millions of people through the media and motivational appearances. He was born with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer and lost his sight at age 12. In September 2017, Olson fulfilled his dream of playing for the Trojans, taking the field in the team’s season opener as the long snapper on a fourth quarter extra point against Western Michigan. Olson is currently a redshirt senior at USC and shares his personal journey on the speaking circuit when school allows.
