In October 2015, nearly 15,000 volunteers from the Woodbury community and beyond assembled and packed meals for the hungry at the largest-ever Feed My Starving Children event under one roof at the HealthEast Sports Center. Four million meals were sent to seven countries around the world, and 10 percent of the money raised was donated to the local Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (CCEFS).
The community is invited once again to help feed the hungry at home and abroad at another mobile pack event set for October 4-7 at HealthEast Sports Center. The goal is to pack 5 million meals and raise $500,000.
“We are looking forward to our community coming together for one impactful weekend—20,000 volunteers fighting hunger globally and locally,” says Lisa Engh, co-chair of the event. “Not only will we pack meals for kids worldwide, but 10 percent of the proceeds will go to our local CCEFS.”
