Take in Woodbury’s beautiful trails and breathtaking scenery while working up a sweat at the 33rd annual Woodbury Country Mile, which features four races starting at a new and exciting location: Bielenberg Sports Center. Planning committee volunteer Heidi Bardwell works with a team of Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce staff and volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly and runners are hydrated, satiated and having fun. “Our committee works well together on many of the aspects to make sure the race continues to be a successful community event,” Bardwell says.
The race attracts a wide range of runners of all ages. “I have participated in the Woodbury Country Mile for several years as have my children,” says Woodbury resident Lori Bernier. “It’s one of my favorite runs due to the beauty of the lakes and trails, and the support from all the spectators along the route. My three boys especially enjoy doing the race because they not only get a cool participant ribbon and T-shirt when they finish, they also get to compete against each other and have a whole year to brag about who was fastest.”
