Happy Birthday to the WCF

A fun-filled 10th anniversary gala is planned for May 17.

The Woodbury Community Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary with a spring gala offering more than the typical dinner and auction. In order to provide a special experience, Dick Hanson of the foundation’s board of directors enlisted the help of volunteers Bob Viking and his wife, Nancy, event-planning professionals. The two have extensive experience organizing major area events: Nancy as former managing director of the Minneapolis Aquatennial, and Bob, CEO of the St. Paul Winter Carnival.

The couple and event steering committee have planned “Woodbury Together: Celebrating Our Heritage, Building Our Future.” In addition to a sit-down dinner, guests will have the chance to walk through an interactive exhibit highlighting key figures and events in Woodbury’s history. Players from the Woodbury Community Theatre will perform vignettes depicting historical events and speculating on the city’s future. Guests can take home a commemorative book detailing the city’s history. “This is going to be a unique and very exciting event,” Bob says. woodburyfoundation.org
