Woodbury Flats is a new apartment development set to be built within Woodbury’s Urban Village, a large master plan created by the city of Woodbury mapping out the land parcel at the southwest corner of Bailey Road and Radio Drive. Commercial Investment Properties, a Nebraska-based, family-owned company, is at the helm of the project and chose the city deliberately. “We’ve been working in the Twin Cities suburban markets for the last three years,” says managing director Mark Jepson. “We loved the city [of Woodbury] and felt there was need and demand; the timing was just right.” The first phase of construction on 152 units in Woodbury Flats is set to begin later this summer and the project will take about 18 to 20 months to complete.
Woodbury Flats will have 305 units with one, two and three bedroom apartments. Amenities include a large clubhouse with a pool, yoga and fitness training spaces and entertainment rooms. “I think this is a very positive addition to the community and [Woodbury Flats] fits nicely with the adopted Urban Village Master Plan,” says city of Woodbury housing and economic development coordinator Karl Batalden. “[The plan] identifies having a range of residential types, ranging from multi-family buildings to townhomes to single-family housing.”
