The curator of a home collection is someone who finds, groups and organizes like items that add interest and are visually appealing together. This person might be a professional—or it might be you: the person who has a patriotic passion for old American flags, a hunger for early 19th-century Pyrex dishes, or a fascination with items of a particular time period.
Whether you’re already a curator or have inherited items from a prior generation, know that incorporating these items into your interior is perfectly on-trend. Homes with a modern aesthetic are often seen highlighting antiques, and vice versa.
- Pursue either a particular item or color you love. This keeps the collection narrow until you are ready to expand.
