Enjoy your very own eggs Benedict at home. Even better, hollandaise sauce is versatile and can be used in a variety of breakfast dishes, and also pairs well with green vegetables, fish, steak and roast beef.
Ingredients
- 3 large egg yolks
- ¼ c. water
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- ½ c. (1 stick) butter
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ⅛ tsp. sweet paprika
- Dash of pepper to taste
Directions
- Whisk egg yolks, water and lemon juice in small saucepan until blended. Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly until mixture bubbles at the edges.
- Stir in butter (1 tbsp. at a time) until melted and sauce is thickened. Remove from heat immediately
- Stir in salt, paprika and pepper. Serve immediately & enjoy!
