When Donna Smith-Stafford started Koins for K9s three years ago, her mission was to add to the legacy her late husband, Bruce Stafford, had created for himself in his dedication to protecting others. Bruce was a Woodbury firefighter, a medic with HealthEast and a homeland security FEMA first responder.
Approaching the third annual Koins for K9s month from November 20 to December 20, Bruce’s legacy fund is continuing to support a growing K9 team. The fund allows the team to purchase equipment and train officers, while assisting other areas nearby.
This year’s goal is to raise $10,000. To contribute, find donation boxes around the city or check out Pet Evolution’s Photos with Santa event.
To support the fund, make a donation in one of the donation boxes around town or online at the website here.
