A Night of Murder at Merrill

Woodbury author Brian Freeman discusses the production based on his chilling book.

The Merrill Community Arts Center is celebrating theater adapted from original written works with this season’s theme, “A Season of Stories: From Page to Stage.” What better way to celebrate than with one of Woodbury’s own? Enter author Brian Freeman.

In Freeman’s chilling tale, Spitting Devil, women in the area are turning up dead and a wife suspects her husband isn’t home all night. The story will be presented as a dramatic reading on the stage on February 7 at the Merrill Community Arts Center’s Rivertown Campus.

Freeman will also speak about the book, take questions and sign autographs. Previously available only in a digital format, there will also be limited-edition print copies of the book at the event, which will include wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres.
