Baseball Lovers Rejoice in PHD Baseball’s Lake Elmo Location.

PHD Baseball’s facility allows Woodbury players their favorite sport year-round.

With only around 94 days of actual summer, and often unpredictable fall and spring weather, we Minnesotans have learned to pack a lot of baseball into a little bit of time. Since the opening of PHD (Pitching, Hitting, Defense) Baseball just across I-94 in Lake Elmo, Woodbury baseball lovers are finding themselves in a new and advantageous situation.

PHD Baseball ignores the Minnesotan tundra; there are indoor batting cages, turf areas and teams that play the beloved game year-round. Players ages 7–18 can come in and join a team, sign up for specialized training or rent out a cage. A potential expansion on the horizon promises even more room for real-game scenario practice space with PHD’s top-notch coaches.

But PHD’s manager Chad Felty says that what sets them apart is their ability to see that it’s about more than the game. “Of course there’s a business mode, but what we’re really concerned about is each individual kid and the experience we’re giving them,” Felty says.
