In 2007, Mode went from a pop-up store, created to liquidate a large amount of overstock items, to a brick-and-mortar shop, and then became a franchise in 2011. From its inception, Mode was based in North Dakota and has several stores in that state. Now, the eighth Mode location has opened in Woodbury, offering designer denim at closeout prices. This store will be the third in the Twin Cities area; the others are in Roseville and Eagan.
Patty Miranda and her daughters are the operators of the new Woodbury Mode and the Roseville location. “We were looking at other franchises similar to Mode, then I saw a posting about how the owners wanted to bring Mode to the metro,” Miranda says. She and her daughters found the all-woman corporate world of Mode to be “super supportive” and believed they had found their perfect fit.
And fit is important in the world of fashion. This summer, expect to see bright colors. “Colored denim, especially oranges and bright greens, are coming for summer,” Miranda says. Other denim trends for 2015 include capris, and, of course, the MODE store specialty, “bling jeans.” “Our customers have been asking a lot about black denim, for a dressier casual look,” Miranda says. Expect to see a variety of trends this year because there is a wide spectrum of denim options.
