Saving the Miller Barn

Creative students design T-shirts to help preserve the Woodbury landmark.

Connor Schellenbach, Katelyn Nelson and Haley Springman, three of the students who designed T-shirts as a fundraiser for the historic Miller Barn project, visit the barn site.

The Woodbury Heritage Society has reached out for help from Woodbury High School art students in its efforts to save the historic Miller Barn and refurbish it into an educational center and community gathering place. “They wanted us to make T-shirt designs,” student Connor Schellenbach says. “Each of us made our own T-shirt and they ended up choosing three different designs.”

Some of the students got involved for personal reasons. “My grandma grew up on a farm in Howard Lake,” student Shawna Reagan says. “When I heard that there was a barn that they might tear down in Woodbury, I really wanted to get involved and make sure that didn’t happen.” Sales from the T-shirts, available through Big Frog of Woodbury, benefit the Miller Barn fundraising effort.
