Woodbury’s class of 2020 are athletes and creatives and academics who juggle complicated workloads. But they have their favorite clothes and jams and beverages they can’t live without–just like any high schooler ever. We sat down with a few of Woodbury’s rising seniors to find out their favorite things—and their favorite places in Woodbury: Marta Struve, Dipali Arora, Jack Lowe, Lily Swanson, Jonathan Torrence

What has been your favorite class or teacher in high school?
World history and geography are my favorites. I really love the Renaissance. And Mr. W—who teaches AP U.S. history—is a great person. He makes every student feel welcome. And we both support the same soccer team, Arsenal F.C., so we’ve been able to connect on that.
What hobbies or extracurriculars are you a part of?
I play varsity soccer. I do the High School Knowledge Bowl. There’s this whole system of competitions, and I love sharing my knowledge and helping my team win. I’m in Robotics Club.
Favorite book?
The Giver by Lois Lowry. I was really into dystopian novels in middle school. But I loved that story—and I liked the movie, too. It was just as I’d envisioned it.
Favorite song?
“Clarity” by Zedd. I love EDM, and he’s one of the best DJs out there. His music never gets old.
Signature outfit?
A polo? If you asked my friends, that’s what they’d say. I wear one almost every day. They’re easy and comfortable.
Beverage you couldn’t live without?
Water, I guess, literally. But also orange Fanta.
Words of wisdom?
Enjoy your school days while they last. It’s tempting to worry about what’s ahead, but trust in the Lord. He sees the bigger picture you can’t see. And your parents, too. They really do have experiential wisdom to help guide you. Listen to them.
What’s next for you?
A four-year degree somewhere, relating to STEM. I love using technology to better other people’s lives.
What’s your favorite spot in Woodbury?
The waterfall at Central Park. I used to go to the library a lot, and we’d always stop there.
