Osteria: Welcoming, Fresh and “Better-Than-Your-Mom’s”

Osteria at Prestwick might be located on a golf course, but you don’t have to be a golfer to come have a great meal. What was formerly David’s Chophouse is now Osteria, and it is new and improved in everything from artwork to brand new, deliciously fresh dishes. “Service is impeccable. You always feel welcome,” says Kerry D’Amato, business manager, “like you’re having a meal at home—but better than your mom cooks,” she adds with a laugh.

The concept is “New American with an Italian flair,” and you can be assured that everything from pastas to breads to meats is house-made by owner Antonio Tettamanzi, who also owns La Grolla in St. Paul. Nothing frozen, nothing pre-made. Tettamanzi has a relationship with many local growers and uses local products as much as possible. “When you know the people you are cooking from, the experience becomes that much more valuable,” says D’Amato.

The fresh local produce, the welcoming environment, the made-from-scratch meals, and a great bar (offering many happy hour specials) help the Osteria staff create an environment where people will leave happy and feel like they got their money’s worth, D’Amato says.
