Her outlook is unconventional. Her personality is lovable. Her hair is iconic. Pippi Longstocking is the little girl we all laugh with and adore, and now she’s heading to the Black Box Theatre stage at East Ridge High School.
Originally adapted by the Children’s Theatre Company, this performance features a professionally recorded musical soundtrack sure to have you humming for days. Christina Berget, who first appeared as the famous orphan in Woodbury Community Theatre’s Annie in 2002, is now back as the director of Pippi Longstocking.
Michelle Witte, operations director for the Merrill Community Arts Center, talks about how perfect the Black Box venue is for this performance. She says, “This theatre is small and kids can get right up close to the actors . . . they have fun getting in on the action in that way.”
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students and can be purchased online or at the door—but shows at the Black Box theatre tend to sell out quickly, so don’t delay.
