Woodbury has a band superstar. A local reggae hip-hop artist and the owner of Zandolee Media, Ryan Daniel, won first place at the Rawkzilla Battle of the Bands, held at G.B. Leighton’s Pickle Park in Fridley this past November. He was awarded $25,000 at the festival, and his success has led to studio time, tour dates, merchandise and more.
More than 150 bands participated in the competition, which is considered to be the largest Battle of the Bands in the Midwest. Judges included national and local booking agents, producers and others involved in the entertainment industry.
In 2013, Daniel placed second in the Rawkzilla Battle of the Bands, and Woodbury Magazine featured an article on Daniel in our May 2014 issue. To hear Daniel’s music, go to ryandanielonline.com.
