Frenchie’s Modern Nail Care is unique. “What makes us different is we are all clean-care,” owner Ryan McEnaney says. Frenchie’s uses porcelain pedicure bowls instead of recycling foot tubs and all tools go through a three-step cleaning process. But cleanliness isn’t all that makes Frenchie’s different from other nail salons.
McEnaney, who used to be a celebrity publicist in Los Angeles, says that the local touch draws in celebrities when they’re in town. Frenchie’s has had guests including Ingrid Michaelson, Idina Menzel and Ke$ha. “It’s exciting for our specialists because so many people in the beauty industry get into it wanting to do celebrities,” McEnaney says. “And it’s tough when you live in a smaller market, and so to be able to have that is definitely exciting.”
Nail technician Kelsey Harding, who did Ingrid Michaelson’s nails, says, “It was so much fun to work with Ingrid,” Harding says. “I’ve loved her music for a long time and to have her at Frenchie’s and get to do her nails was incredible.”
