Graduation at Woodbury High School on June 1 will be a rite of passage for the class of 2014. It will also be a milestone for Scott Swansson, affectionately known as “Swanny,” who is retiring after 35 years of teaching and coaching.

Tumble, twist, swing and vault: When was the last time your typical day included one of these verbs? For one Woodbury family, the sport of gymnastics, and the movement and artistry that come with it, is not only work and play, but also a major passion.

Eagle Brook Church’s Woodbury branch began meeting at East Ridge High School in 2011 and has seen its membership grow from 1,300 to more than 2,300, with the congregation quickly outgrowing its temporary home. “Being in the neighborhood is a big deal,” says executive pastor Scott Anderson.

Face painting. A parade. Rides for kids. Miss Woodbury. While these components have played a consistent role in Woodbury Days, the community celebration has grown and changed over its 35-year history.

The Wedgewood homeowners’ association turns 20 years old this summer. Although this planned development dates back to 1984 beginning with construction of Wedgewood (now Prestwick) Golf Course, the homeowner association was incorporated in 1993.
