Valley Crossing Community School’s Parent-Teacher Association has planned a great opportunity for Woodbury families to get their hearts pumping, their stomachs satisfied and their fun quotas filled, all while supporting a local school. Now in its fourth year, the Valley Crossing 5K Run/walk will feature the face painters, bouncy houses and free food of previous years, with the addition of a wellness fair. Once families finish the race around Colby Lake, they can head into the school’s cafeteria for a bit of wisdom to achieve health and financial wellbeing. “Our PTA is awesome,” says Katie Bundgaard, PTA member and organizer of this year’s event. “We like to come up with different ways to raise money for the school that isn’t just selling magazines and greeting cards.”
