Woodbury Residents Make Custom Lockers to Extend the Life of Sports Equipment

In February of 2013, Woodbury resident Randy Neyens created his business Sport Lockrz: hand-crafted storage lockers, sold online to encourage athletes to take better care of their gear.

With Neyens’ background in woodworking, the business soon took off. Since its inception, Sport Lockrz has provided lockers to everyone from busy families with sporty kids to the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto.

“Our target audience is parents with athletes who need a place to dry and store their gear,” Neyens says. “Hockey is not a cheap sport, nor are any of these other sports, so the only way to really expand the life of your gear is to make sure it’s properly taken care of.”

And instead of a simple wood finish, Sport Lockrz allows customers to have the unit painted in any colors to add a personal touch.
