Farm to Table

Stock up at the Woodbury Farmers’ Market.

Nothing screams “summer” like fresh, seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers. And the best place to nab all these goodies is the Woodbury Farmers’ Market, returning to the Central Park parking lot for another season of farm-to-table exchanges.

Most of the fruits, veggies, flowers, dairy and meat for sale at the Woodbury Farmers’ Market were grown and raised within a 50-mile radius of the market. “Everything that we have [at the market] has to be locally grown,” says Jack Gerten, director of St. Paul Growers Association, which organizes all the farmers’ markets in the metro area.

The St. Paul Growers Association goes the extra mile to ensure market visitors are buying straight from the source: Staff members visit growers’ fields and track items slotted to appear at the market. “We take it very seriously,” Gerten says.
