Fast-Casual Italian Restaurant Piada Opens

Fast casual Piada Italian Street Food mixes fast food with a special dine-in experience.
Specialty piadas like this one with calamari are popular choices at Piada Italian Street Food in CityPlace.

Another new option has opened on the growing Woodbury restaurant scene: Piada Italian Street Food. The fast casual restaurant in CityPlace offers a fresh spin on Italian dining. With fast and fresh preparation along with flexible dining, Piada is perfect for any occasion, whether grabbing a quick bite for lunch or hosting a business meeting.

“Fast casual is more elegant than fast food,” says Jordan Blossom, community marketing manager for Piada Italian Street Food. “And everything is made right in front of you.”

The name of the restaurant should tip you off to their signature item: piadas. “Our piadas are made of thin Italian dough that is heated on hot stone and it’s easily customizable,” Blossom says. Piadas are typically stuffed with Italian meats and cheese and other fresh ingredients such as vegetables or their house-made pesto. Piada Italian Street Food also offers seasonal items including specialty salads on their spring/summer and fall/winter menus.

The Woodbury location allows customers to either dine in or take out. Piada’s dine-in seating arrangement is a bit different. The restaurant uses what they call “community tables” that all seat eight to 10 people not necessarily from the same group. “We like the feeling of bringing the community together,” Blossom says.
