The annual East Ridge High School Raptors versus Woodbury High School Royals football game traditionally draws a huge crowd to cheer on the crosstown rivals. It’s a much-anticipated event in Woodbury, alternating between the two high school’s home fields. In October 2014, the matchup took place at East Ridge’s Raptor’s Nest on a gorgeous fall evening, where Scott Zuehlke snapped this photo.
“My wife and I had two sons playing for Woodbury High that night,” says Zuehlke, an operations service manager for Delta Airlines and 26-year Woodbury resident. “The photo was taken with my iPhone.” The sky was tinged orange by that fall’s Canadian wildfires.
