In September 1977, New Life Academy (NLA) opened its doors to the community, offering preschool through high school. For 40 years, the elementary grades have featured core curriculum plus Bible, along with other opportunities, such as physical education, music, media and technology, and library resources, director of marketing and enrollment Amy Clausen says.
At the high school level, NLA features AP classes, honors, College in the Schools and PSEO options. NLA also offers a wide range of programs within theater, music and sports, and many extracurricular organizations. “We have student council, National Honor Society, mock trial, knowledge bowl, young authors and more,” Clausen says.
Their 40th anniversary will kick off with NLA’s back-to-school event in August. “We’ll have highlights on our school, and maybe some food trucks and ice cream trucks that day as they are coming back to school,” Clausen says. The year will continue to support the anniversary theme throughout the school year, with events such as homecoming in October and the annual auction in April.
