Posh Pooch Pet Salon and Boutique has existed for a little less than 10 years, but it’s quickly become an established fixture of Woodbury. From the edge of Afton to the cusp of I-94, tails wag feverishly at its mention.
Posh Pooch’s new Commerce Drive location, which opened last August, has played a big role in the company’s recent success. The location’s large size means they’re able to carry more new products, and this variety is one thing owner Julie Erling says sets them apart. “We do pampering and luxury here...but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s costly,” Erling says. “Sometimes it means unique or harder-to-find products. We put a lot of effort into that.”
While Posh Pooch wants to pamper their animals, it’s also apparent that the store has become a family affair. “Often whole families come in with their kids and dogs,” Erling says. “The kids will kiss the dogs goodbye before their haircut and then watch through the large windows . . . we love that we have that environment.”
This spring, Posh Pooch suggests these pup products:
- For walks in the spring air, try a new harness for your dog. They’re the most humane way to walk with your dog, and Posh Pooch has everything from colored designs to extravagant embellishments with Swarovski crystals. ($20–$80).
- In soggy weather, you’re going to want a toy that can be taken outside but doesn’t bring all of the outside back in. Fear not—OoMaLoo toys can be thrown right in the washing machine ($10–20).
