How did Anthony Velte capture this cool view of Woodbury? “I enjoy building and flying remote-controlled aircraft, so I stopped at the Lake Road and Manning Avenue water tower to fly a quadcopter while shooting video and taking aerial photographs,” Velte says. “The lighting, clouds and surrounding area looked like it would make for some interesting video and photographs. I figured that the unique perspectives available from the air might result in something unique and dramatic. Marvin is a three-year-old Chihuahua/small poodle mix, and most of the time he never sits still. “I like to take pictures of him and sometimes he will stay still for me,” says his owner, Mariah Delich.

Delich, a student at Minneapolis Community and Technical College who is studying photography, took this photo with her Nikon D7000. She says, “I enjoy shooting in black and white because then you can focus more on the subject than the color.
