Hobbyist photographer captures the small world of caterpillars.

Most people don’t take the time to stop and observe the world around them. But Kent Nye, hobbyist photographer for almost 40 years, often pays closer attention to his surroundings in order to capture the beauty of it. Nye took his winning photograph on his deck this past July when he noticed some unfamiliar caterpillar visitors. “I tried to capture their small world that’s out there, that we often don’t think about,” he says.
