In an age of technology-driven instant gratification, business models are constantly shifting and changing to serve a new ideal in what’s quick and what’s convenient. The food business is no exception. It used to be that when you wanted food delivered, your biggest decision was deciding what pizza place to order from. Pizza delivery, eat your heart out: Delivery Fix is in town.
Delivery Fix, a business that acts as a third, connecting party between businesses and residents, offers delivery service for businesses that do not offer it, with a set charge for delivery within Woodbury. Customers simply go to the website, choose a restaurant, and put in their order online. It’s possible to order from most restaurants in the Woodbury area; some featured restaurants on the site, such as Duc’s Vietnamese & Chinese Cuisine and Sole Mio Ristorante, offer lower delivery charges.
Chris Petersen of Summit Orthopedics orders through Delivery Fix for employee meetings an average of six times a month. “I never worry about them being on time or going to the right location,” Petersen says, “…they go out of their way to make sure their customers are taken care of.”
Mark Hudnall, owner of the Woodbury branch, saw the success of Delivery Fix in Eau Claire, Wis., when two of his friends started it five years ago. That branch has now evolved into serving numerous functions, including an errands service and a medical transport service. While Hudnall would love to see the Woodbury branch evolve in other ways, he says the focus right now is on restaurants.
In these days of endless to-do lists, there may not be the one glorious solution. But having a reliable service like Delivery Fix can help us all exhale a little before we run to our phones to order our favorite dishes.
