Woodbury Community Theatre (WCF) is capturing Broadway’s classic production of Meredith Wilson’s musical The Music Man. “Though the WCT does several more contemporary productions each season, it’s always great to go back to the classics,” says Michelle Witte, WCT board vice president. With the addition of the new Merrill Community Arts Center Black Box Theater, the WCT is hoping to do more shows each year. “Productions like The Music Man are wonderful because they allow us to involve so many talented people,” says Witte. From actors, to producers, and directors to sound techs, lighting gurus, and costume and set designers, a production such as The Music Man will ultimately utilize the skills of over 100 volunteers. The show is co-produced by Michael Hamerlind and Michael Balzotti, and the director is Marcie Berglund. Performances are July 12–21 at the Loft Stage at East Ridge High School, 4200 Pioneer Drive; woodburycommunitytheatre.org. & Can’t act to save your life? Fear not, there is always a role for you at the WCT. woodburycommunitytheatre.org
