Woodbury Days has been a community favorite for the past 39 years. “It’s a three-day family-friendly community celebration,” Woodbury Days Council president Theresa Janechek says. “There’s no fee to get in and it always happens in August.” This year, the celebration will take place August 25-27 at Ojibway Park.
Annual activities like the fireworks, carnival, petting zoo, parade and the business fair will return this year, along with a handful of new activities for children including a Lego Alien and Pup creation workshop, kids’ cookie decorating event, art projects with Kidcreate Studio and more.
But that’s not all that’s new this year: The Woodbury Days Council went from a 22-person council to a 55-person council. “It was just beginning to be too much for the 22 members to handle all that goes into the planning,” Janechek says. “We decided to expand the number of people who were on the council to help with the planning.” Janechek says that along with lightening the workload, it’s also a chance for something new. “It brings a new energy and new ideas,” she says.
