Woodbury High School’s Gupta Twins Spotlight

Woodbury High School’s Gupta twins are a force to be reckoned with.
Niti and Riti Gupta

Remember when you were a senior in high school and you were a lacrosse captain, sat on student council, belonged to the National Honor Society, sang in choir, were a designated sports superfan, and owned your own photography business? (Gasp for breath). Niti and Riti Gupta, seniors at Woodbury High School, just call that a Wednesday.

With a demanding and constant schedule that ensures the two are always together, these fraternal twins have gotten creative in the way they relate to one another. “We see each other as [sisters first] but co-workers sometimes,” Niti says, and then laughs, “especially in photography.” The two started Gupta Twins Photography at the age of 15, and have since experienced success in taking portraits for seniors, couples and groups. The two don’t always see eye to eye in photography shoots and edits—but Niti is quick to point out, “We have these very different techniques, which is good; it helps us get better.” The Gupta twins spend as much time talking about how they push and support each other as they do driving each other a little crazy.

As college looms on the horizon, the twins hope to head to different schools. There’s talk of continuing photography independently and studying to be doctors, but the passion that shines the brightest is their desire to give back, which they do by using their photography to raise awareness for a variety of causes, including education in India. It seems likely that Niti and Riti, a dynamic duo who have already given so much to the Woodbury community, are poised for a successful future.
