Woodbury Hosts 10th Annual Open Your Heart Gala

Woodbury fashion review supports Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

For the 10th year running, Woodbury is supporting the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in fashionable flair. The Open Your Heart Gala features a cash bar, dinner, and silent and live auctions led by master emcee Eric Rislove. The night’s main event, the fashion review, showcases spring’s hottest trends and styles from local shops; Woodbury men and women strut the catwalk to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) Woodbury Guild. Proceeds from the Guild benefit programs at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Dixie Ewing, a member of the planning committee for the event, says that although fashion shows are one of the most difficult fundraisers to pull off, they are well-attended and a personal favorite.

Ewing experienced the compassion of Children’s Hospital when her grandson was born prematurely and stayed in the neonatal care unit. “I got to see firsthand what they can do and how they can do it,” she says. Not only is the show a festive way to welcome spring, it offers families a helping hand. “Woodbury has so many children, so we need to give to that cause so we have the great facility for when our children need it,” Ewing says.
