Sunburst Music Festival

Local musical talent takes the stage at this showcase event. The Sunburst Music Festival has grown in popularity over the years, making two separate events necessary, with August as the final opportunity to attend this summer. Each performance will last approximately 20 minutes, and attendees will enjoy a wide variety of music genres. Uptown Art Fair

The Uptown Art Fair in Minneapolis is the winner of more than 115 International Festivals and Events Association Awards, and it isn’t hard to see why. The Art Fair is three days of creative fun, from art activities to wine tasting to a Culinary Arts competition. There is non-stop entertainment ranging from reggae to magic on the performance stage, and festival food galore. The main star of the show, however, is the art: ranging from limited editions to one-of-a-kind treasures from more than 350 talented artists from around the world. Free. Bye Bye Birdie

This summer, the Merrill Community Arts Center presents the classic musical, Bye Bye Birdie. The play tells the story of fictional rock and roll singer Conrad Birdie, who is about to be inducted into the Army. Expect to hear iconic songs What Did I Ever See in Him?, Put on a Happy Face, One Boy and many others. $12-18. Woodbury natives perform at Woodbury Lions Veterans Memorial

The Woodbury Lions Veterans Memorial will be the site for a special one-night community concert event to raise funds and awareness for their project in the week leading up to Flag Day. The Memorial recognizes the contributions of those citizens who have served in military duty to honor and protect this great nation and is the result of a joint collaboration between the Woodbury Lions Club, Woodbury American Legion Post 501, Woodbury VFW Post 9024, and the City of Woodbury. Sing, Play, Learn

The MacPhail Center for Music presents “Water Makes Music,” an opportunity for tots to learn through musical play. The theme of the program is water: oceans, rivers, lakes and even water creatures. South Washington County Schools District Orchestra Festival

In 2006, South Washington County Schools founded its orchestra program with 225 fourth and fifth grade students, which has since expanded. The fall of 2010 marked the first year the program was offered in all three high schools. The first orchestra students will graduate in June 2014, and the orchestra program is celebrating with a districtwide festival. Celebrate the program’s success. 651.458.6300.
