The Father’s Club of Saint Thomas Academy will host a public event featuring motivational speaker Jake Olson, the former University of Southern California Trojan football long snapper, who is blind. Olson has shared his moving and inspirational story with millions of people through the media and motivational appearances. The tastiest event in Woodbury this month might just be Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf’s annual Chili Hubbub. Families, including young kids, are invited to spend an afternoon tasting chili (you guessed it) and other comfort-food offerings—mac and cheese, anyone?—from local restaurants. Call it a chili scavenger hunt; try them all, and decide which is your favorite.
