Christine Quirk, 22, has lived in Woodbury her entire life with one exception: She went away to New York for college, then moved back to town in May 2016. This fun photo was taken in her family’s pool last summer. “I love making bubble rings underwater and thought how cool it would look in a picture,” Quirk says. “I gave it a try and the result was amazing.”
Quirk used a Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP waterproof digital camera with 5X optical zoom and 2.7 inch LCD. “I’ve been taking underwater pictures since I got the camera in 2008,” she says. “It’s one of my favorite things to shoot, whether it’s my family members having a good time in the pool or my teammates on my swim team.”
Quirk’s photo earned second place in the people category in Woodbury Magazine’s 2015 Focus on Woodbury Photo Contest.
