“I took this picture on October 12, 2021, while on a walk around Markgrafs Lake. I was out walking around with my toddler. When we stopped at the shoreline to look at the water, I saw a few unique mushrooms and decided to take a few photos with my iPhone,” says Baylie DeLong, photographer of Markgrafs Mushroom, which won second place in the Wildlife & Nature category in the Focus on Woodbury photo contest. “I really enjoy taking photos of nature. Duty, Courage and Pride

Woodbury local Nikki Osho captured her daughter’s gleaming smile on August 3, 2021, as she climbed into the driver’s seat of the Woodbury firetruck. “It was a neighborhood get-together, and all of a sudden, a firetruck just pulled up and my 5-year-old daughter hopped in!” Osho says. Joy Ride

First Time on Two Wheels!

What stands out in David Augustson’s second place photo winner is the joy and excitement in his son’s smile. Augustson recalls taking the photo of his son, Will, and how delighted the youngster was to successfully ride a two-wheeled bike for the very first time. “He was riding his bike, and I was taking a bunch of photos, but this one stood out because of how happy he was to get on two wheels. It was great,” Augustson says. He captured this special moment outside of the daycare in which his son attended this past July. Read more about Joy Ride
