Peace of Mind Early Education Center has offered care and instruction to Woodbury’s infants and children for 20 years. What started as a center located in a strip mall is now a comprehensive early education facility located on Tamarack Drive.
Founder Nicole Robbins opened the facility when she had children of her own. “I wanted to have my own family with me,” Robbins says. “I had a hard time finding a program where I felt like my kids would be loved as much as if they were with me.” All three of Robbins’ children hung out with her at Peace of Mind until they reached sixth grade, when it was no longer “cool” to spend time with mom,” Robbins laughs.
Robbins emphasizes that years 0-5 are the most crucial in a child’s development, and that early education has seen major developments in the past 20 years. Kids are learning numbers and other skills they used to be taught in kindergarten. As Robbins says, “Kids aren’t just taking naps and having snacks anymore.”
