Sometimes, a simple question is all it takes to launch a caring heart on a bigger mission. For over a decade, Claudia Millington has grown the Woodbury Citizens’ Academy (WCA) as a must-do program for future public servants and volunteers.

Family–the people we laugh with, cook with, cry with and eat too many bowls of ice cream with after a particularly difficult week. Each family is their own extraordinary combination of zigzags and polka dots and triangles, with each member bringing their own, special qualities to the mix.

The vibrant arts and culture scene that we enjoy here in Woodbury is due in large part to Merrill Community Arts Center (MCAC).

As the child of two musicians, Joan Molloy was exposed to music at a young age. It wasn’t long before her love of music transitioned from playing records to practicing the piano and finally the violin. She describes her relationship with the violin as a labor of love.

Local dentist Dr. George Kinney Jr. didn’t necessarily intend to spend thousands of hours over the course of his career volunteering, but “when you say ‘yes,’ you get presented with lots of opportunities to help and learn,” he says.
